Preschool Program
Full Day Preschool Program
Ages 2 - 4 years old
This program prepares children for the requirements of kindergarten. The program will include circle time, Jolly Phonics, math concepts, art, dramatic play and physical activities in our indoor playground. Children attend this program independent of a parent. Class size is limited to 5 children to allow each child to receive individual attention.
Alpha’s Discovery Club follows a play-based curriculum which focuses on learning through the child’s individual interests. We believe that children learn through meaningful play experiences. Play is a child’s work. While playing, a child is constructing knowledge and learning about the world around them. Therefore, it is our role to setup an environment that encourages children to freely explore through planned interest areas such as blocks, reading, dramatic and art areas. While playing in the interest areas, children will develop physical, cognitive, language and social skills. Self-esteem is an important part of learning and gives children the ability to explore freely. We believe it’s important to foster a positive self-esteem through our interactions with the children. The teacher is a play partner for the children and extends and expands on their learning experience.
Literacy is very important to us and beginning at the age of 2, we start the Jolly Phonics literacy program. Learning to read and write are vital skills for children. The Jolly Phonics program has been proven to encourage early literacy skills. From age 2-4, the program focuses on learning letter sounds and formation.
The program is managed and developed by an experienced Early Childhood Educator (ECE).
