What Alpha’s Discovery Daycare Can Offer Your Children
Our mission is to provide your children with a fun and fulfilling learning experience that feeds their natural curiosity. We prepare your children for the next step in their education with a focus in language and literacy, science, technology, engineering, art, math, physical activity, nutrition, and mindful awareness.
We understand that every child is unique and not every child learns the same. We provide an experience for your child that is anxiety free, where they can learn and explore at their own pace. Our educators take note of each child’s interests, strengths, and weaknesses and encourage a child-initiated experience to maximize learning. We also understand that, you, as a parent want to be involved in your child’s learning experience. We will provide you with verbal and digital updates in regards to your child’s progress as well as annual updates on how your child is meeting key milestones.
In addition, our educators are passionate about what they do, and don’t take their responsibilities lightly. Our educators are qualified Early Childhood Educators (ECE) and are registered with the College of Early Childhood Assistants (ECA). They pass all background checks and are hired based on their love for children and qualifications. They attend regular training sessions to expand on their knowledge and learn new strategies to teach your child.
You will take comfort in knowing that your child is safe in the hands of our educators. Our educators are trained to follow proper guidelines as per The Ministry of Education and Local Health Regulations. We understand that children get sick and can spread around illness, quickly. To combat this, we sanitize the facility, daily. Our front door is security code protected, and only staff and parents have access to it. We encourage outdoor physical activity at our facility. The playground is fenced in on all sides. For safe measure, we also have security cameras installed as well as an alarm system.
Your child’s mental and physical health matters to our educators. We make a point to provide your child with the opportunity to play outdoors twice per day. There is always enough activities for each child and each activity is a learning opportunity. We allow opportunities to kick a ball around, climb, throw balls, running, and even pedaling on a tricycle. In addition, we encourage healthy meals throughout the day. All of the snacks and meals we provide follow the most recent Canada’s Food Guide and are reviewed by a registered dietitian. We realize that not every child is the same and not as easy going when it comes to foods. We substitute food items as necessary to ensure that your child is fed adequately.
Children also need breaks from vigorous play to recoup for their mental well being. If your child does not want to nap, we offer relaxing and mindful activities such as coloring, reading, writing, and puzzles.
Programs We Offer
Here, at Alpha’s Discovery Kids Oakville, we offer variety of options to meet the needs of busy parents. Our full-time option allows you to keep your child in our care Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Our half-day option provides childcare for up to 5 hours a day, any time period, and you can attend 2 to 5 days a week. Lastly, we have a nursery school option that runs during the work week from 9:00am to 11:30am.
In addition, we offer four specific programs. Our toddler program is for children 12 months to 2.5 years old. In this program, your child will learn language and literacy, science, math, technology, engineering, art (STEAM), physical activity and mindful awareness. We focus on sensory-based activities in this program such as Play Doh. We keep the learning process as natural as possible in this program and your child will be introduced to numbers, colours, shapes, letters, etc., during their natural play. If your child is not yet potty trained, no worries, our educators will assist you with this throughout their time, here.
Our junior preschool program is for children 2.5 to 3.5 years old. Again, we focus on STEAM and language and literacy. Your child will build upon their knowledge of shapes, colours, numbers, etc., and will learn about position, patterns, sequencing, problem-solving, listening skills, and will learn to enhance their vocabulary. In the junior preschool program, there is a French instruction program which consists of french language activities such as singing and basic words.
Thirdly, we have our senior preschool program which includes children 3.5 to 5 years old. It is similar to the junior preschool program which focuses on STEAM, natural play, and french learning activities.
Lastly, we offer a camp option where children aged 3 to 6 years old can get together weekly to learn together. We offer physical activities, as well as social and intellectual activities to stimulate your child completely. We also host fun, educational field trips now and then.
If you ever decide to take a vacation, we can reduce your child care fees while your child is away. Should you choose to take the summer off, we will hold your child a spot until they return in September.
